Matthew delivers IT Strategies and Enterprise Architectures for large organisations both public and private sector, and assists these organisations in the restructure and re-design of their internal processes to ensure that the benefits of technology can be realised in the business. He has an excellent understanding of the full scope of IT; an ability to understand businesses operating models and to translate business concepts into technology; as well as specialist skills in: strategy, integration, information modelling, and service/component based architectures.
Matthew has successfully set up and managed many IT development programmes, transformation initiatives and strategy and architecture units.
Matthew has worked on large transformation programmes for the UK government since 2001, helping departments modernise their IT functions. This involved the development of strategies and enterprise architectures and the development/negotiation of contracts to deliver IT to these organisations to allow them to benefit from IT enabled business change, whilst minimising risk and returning control of IT to the departments.
Matthew's last role was as chief technical architect for a large central government business and technology change programme. In this role he held accountability and responsibility for the IT strategy and the enterprise architecture of the solution. He managed a team of approximately 20 enterprise and solution architects working closely with the business architecture and change teams.
